hash collision

[ MDVSA-2009:237 ] openssl

The NSS library library before 3.12.3, as used in Firefox; GnuTLS
before 2.6.4 and 2.7.4; OpenSSL 0.9.8 through 0.9.8k; and other
products support MD2 with X.509 certificates, which might allow
remote attackers to spooof certificates by using MD2 design flaws
to generate a hash collision in less than brute-force time. NOTE:
the scope of this issue is currently limited because the amount of
computation required is still large (CVE-2009-2409).

This update provides a solution to these vulnerabilities.

[SECURITY] CVE-2012-0022 Apache Tomcat Denial of Service

- Tomcat 6.0.0 to 6.0.33
- Tomcat 5.5.0 to 5.5.34
- Earlier, unsupported versions may also be affected

Description:
Analysis of the recent hash collision vulnerability identified unrelated
inefficiencies with Apache Tomcat's handling of large numbers of
parameters and parameter values. These inefficiencies could allow an
attacker, via a specially crafted request, to cause large amounts of CPU
to be used which in turn could create a denial of service.
The issue was addressed by modifying the Tomcat parameter handling code

A regression was found with the self signed certificate signatures
checking after applying the fix for CVE-2009-2409. An upstream patch
